چکیده

Seaweed is one of the prima donna marine biota which widely used as a natural antioxidant. Various species seaweed are found growing naturally in waters Kabung Island, West Kalimantan. This study aims to determine phytochemical content and antioxidant activity each genus Turbinaria, Hypnea Caulerpa from those collected Island. extraction uses maceration method with methanol remove active compounds. Next, screening was performed using specific reagents such alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids, tannins saponins will change color or form precipitates. The free radical scavenging 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) solution test extract. compound sample extract be formed if there radicals dark purple light yellow clean. results showed that three extracts contained tannins, flavonoids saponins. Meanwhile, positive alkaloids were Turbinaria extracts, steroids indicated by Caulerpa. Antioxidant categorized potent an IC50 value 88.57 ppm, higher than 114.32 138.42 ppm respectively classified weak antioxidants.
